Overview

How to Apply for a UIC Foundation Scholarship:

If you are a first-time scholarship applicant, please submit the following:

  • Completed scholarship application
  • One letter of recommendation
  • Acceptance letter


If you are a renewal scholarship applicant, please submit the following:

  • Completed scholarship application
  • Unofficial transcript or grade report showing prior term


Submission

Applications may be emailed, mailed, faxed, or submitted through the UIC Foundation web site.


Academic Probation

There is no academic grace period for students. The UIC Foundation Board may consider at their discretion extreme circumstances and may make exceptions.


Payment of Funds

Must be made directly to the educational institution.

Requirements

Full-Time vs. Part-Time

A student is considered full-time if they are enrolled for the equivalent of 12 credits or more. The UIC Foundation will consider one credit to equal the equivalent of 12.5 hours of instruction time in a vocational program. In order for a vacation program to be considered full-time, the individual must be in attendance at the institution for a minimum of 150 hours during the term. Graduate students will be considered full-time or based on the published guidance on their institution’s website.


Deadlines

  • Fall Term – August 1
  • Winter Term – January 1
  • Summer Term – May 15


Grades must be received by the later of the scholarship deadline above or within 5 days of the institution’s published grade posting deadline.
